Covid death toll falls to 20 after two months in Nagpur district

Covid infection is declining slowly. In the last seven days there were less than 1000 infected patients and the death figure was also below 30 while for the first time after two months, the number of deaths reduced to 20 on Thursday. This gives a relief to health department. The number of infected also came down to 746 in the district on Thursday. With this the total number of infected reached 84,827 while the number of deaths was 2724. However, experts said that more precautions are needed in the coming month with the starting of winter.

In these eight months of Covid infection, the most patients came in September. Only four days in this month the number of patients was below 1000. The highest number of patients came in one day was 2343. The special thing is that on August 1, 14 patients died. After this, the number of deaths kept increasing. The maximum number of patients died on September 17. The health department was shaken by 64 deaths. But after this the death toll started coming down. The situation is expected to be brought under control soon. The number of patients has also decreased in Mayo and Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) in There are 224 patients in Mayo and 281 in GMCH for treatment.

5419 patients negative in 6165 tests

A total of 6165 patients including 3448 RT-PCR and 2717 rapid antigens were tested in Nagpur district today. Of these, 5419 patients have tested negative. 190 patients have tested positive in antigen test. In RT-PCR test, 89 patients tested positive in AIIMS, 26 in GMCH, 88 in Mayo, 29 in MAFSU, 64 in NEERI and 260 in private labs.

Now, 9000 patients out of 84000 active

At present 9489 patients, who are undergoing treatment, are active compared to a total of 84000 infected patients. 58,184 patients have recovered in the city. In rural areas 14,430 patients have recovered and now 3043 patients are undergoing treatment. Today 1012 Covid infected patients recovered. With this, the recovery rate has reached 85.60 per cent.
