Dahiya, Dubey, Rai included in Vidarbha team

Taking a lesson from Syed Mushtaq Ali Twenty-20 Tournament in which Vidarbha lost all five matches, the senior selectors of Vidarbha Cricket Association have selected the team having a combination of youth and experience for the Vijay Hazare Trophy to be played from February 2o at Indore.

At the same time the selectors have given an opportunity to the youngsters who have performed well in Guzder Lague A Division Cricket Tournament. Among the batsmen, Kshitij Dahiya who emerged third highest run scorer with 517 runs in seven matches hitting one century and two half has been given an opportunity. Among the bowlers, Harsh Dubey (23 wickets) and Surah Rai (20 wickets) have been selected.

Left-handed batsman Faiz Fazal who had decided not to play T-20 format will lead the team. Surprisingly former Hong Kong captain Anshuman Rath who scored second highest runs (521) while representing MSSC has been ignored. Technically sound R Sanjay who is knbown as red ball specialist has also been included in the team. The team will leave for Indore on February 13 after undergoing RT-PCR Covid test.
