HC issues bailable warrant against Suresh Deshmukh

Bailable warrants of Rs 15,000 each have been issued against secretary of Wardha’a Bapurao Deshmukh Foundation Suresh Deshmukh and Vilas Sable after failing to remain present in the court after notice of contempt of high court was issued. Both respondents have been asked to remain present in the high court on October 29, 2020.

This order was given by Justice Atul Chandurkar and Nitin Suryavanshi of Nagpur Bench of Bombay High Court. Dismissed assistant professors Bhavana Chilke, Sumit Vaidya, Aniket Bhoyar, Praveen Lakhe, Nilesh Murekar, Shailesh Sakhre, Reena Satpute and Divya Chandan of Suresh Deshmukh Engineering College run by Bapurao Deshmukh Foundation have filed contempt petition against Deshmukh and Sable in high court.

The petitioners were dismissed from the service in April 2018 even though their appointment was as per rule and their job was permanent. Prior to this, they were not given salaries from August 2016 to April 2018. The court had ordered respondents on December 11, 2019 to give pending salaries to petitioner professors within four weeks. Later, these teachers applied for salaries but their applications were not followed. They have not received pending salaries yet. They have filed contempt petition in high court. The petitioners have demanded that contempt action should be taken against Deshmukh and Sable and pending salaries should be released.
