MBA general secy Tiwari rides 126 km in 6.44 hrs

The general secretary of Maharashtra Boxing Association and a resident of Bhadravati Dr Rakesh Tiwari has covered 126 distance between Bhadrawati and Nagpur in 6.44 hours on bi-cycle and reached the city 11 a.m.

On Friday at 11 a.m., he will give a memorandum about sports policy of the government to Maharashtra sports minister Sunil Kedar at Shetkari Bhavan. On Thursday he also met union minister nitin Gadkari at his residence to wish him on his birthday

According to Dr Tiwari , under Khalo India scheme of the Central government the game of boxing has been excluded from various districts and particularly from Chandrapur. This is a gross injustice to the game and the boxers. The Khelo India centres are not sanctioned in Maharashtra as per demand.

Dr Tiwari said being the general secretary of MBA he can't tolerate the injustice to the game. Dr Tiwari has also pointed out that the State government is privatising 36 stadiums in the state and Mumbai's Dharavi Sports Stadium is already privatised. He has opposed privatisation of stadiums and also demanded to fill the vacant posts of sports officers, coaches in the sports department of the state government. Tiwari has also alleged that the state government is not implementing its sports programme properly. To attract the attention of the state government towards his demand, Tiwari g will give memorandum to the sports minister. He also said to give justice to the sportspersons he will continue to raise his voice on various platforms.

President of MBA Jay Kawli, president of Chandrapur District Boxing Association DrPremchand, Prof.SangitaBambole, PurvaKherkar, Vijay Dhoble, Vipul Thakkar, Alok Biswas, Amar Bhandarwar, Nehal Dange and others have congratulated Dr Tiwari for his initiative.
