Mumbai police inquires with Nagpur-based explosive Co

The news about explosives were found in a abandoned vehicle near the bungalow of renowned industrialist Mukesh Ambani, on Thursday afternoon has created quite a stir. Mumbai police contacted the Nagpur-based company administration on Thursday night and conducted an inquiry into the matter with company officials. As the explosives were manufactured in Bazargaon based Solar Explosives Company, Nagpur. Many prominent people live in the area including Lata Mangeshkar and important establishments like Jaslok Hospital and Jindal House in the same vicinity.

When Lokmat Times contacted the Nagpur-based company, they confirmed about the inquiry but refused to divulge any information about the exact nature of enquiry, instead handed over a press release detailing about the complete procedure of production and distribution process of the product as per the government guidelines.

According to them, as per the guidelines of the Ministry of Industry and Petroleum Safety (Peso) of the Central government, as per the 2008 rules, the production and sale of every explosive produced by the company is recorded on the portal of the department. These explosives are supplied by authorised licensed companies. It is also reported to the police.

General manager of the company, Someshwar Mundada said that as the explosives found in Mumbai were in loose form, and how they got in the car, is being investigated by the Mumbai police.

Nagpur commissioner of police Amitesh Kumar and Nagpur superintendent of police (Rural) Rakesh Ola informed that they have not been contacted by Mumbai police yet.
