Opportunities for sports teachers in foreign countries discussed

Nagpur, July 10

The Department of Physical Education, Institute of Science and PGTD Physical Education, Rashtrasant Tukadoji Maharaj Nagpur University jointly organized an online session on for the students on ‘Opportunities for Physical Education Teachers/Sports Coaches in Gulf/ Foreign Countries’. The speakers for the session Head- Physical Education Department of Indian School Salalah, Sultanate of Oman Ishwar Deshmukh and Prof . Rakesh Dubey from Bule Hora University. Ethiopia and alumnus of Post Graduate Teaching Department of Physical Education, Nagpur University. The inaugural speech was delivered by JCPE principal Dr. Vijat Datarkar whereas IOs director Dr. R.G.Atram addressed the gathering. The session began with the introduction of the speakers. Mr.Deshmukh hails from the Orange city and has almost three decades of teaching experience in reputed schools in India and overseas, out of which eighteen years in the UAE, Kingdom of Bahrain and Sultanate of Oman.

In his lecture he briefed the students on how to prepare CV, face the interview, expected questions, salaries, perks and other fringe benefits; eligibility criteria and basic qualifications as well as living standard and culture of the Middle East countries. The session concluded with the related queries for the students.

Prof Rakesh Dubey with a teaching experience of almost 25 years in India and South Africa. He highlighted on the procedures of the interview and other related formalities in seeking jobs in colleges and universities in foreign countires..

The aim of organizing the session was to give an idea and awareness to the students on teaching career opportunities in the gulf countries.

Around 80 students from vidarbha and other states attended the session. While sharing thier experience, both the speakers stated that one should always strive to grow professionally and look for a change in career.

The session was initiated and vote of thanks was proposed by Head- Department of Physical Education IOS & Coordinator PGTD Physical Education Department, RTMNU Dr. Madhavi Mardikar.
