Truck stolen from smart police station Lakadganj

A notorious goon stole a truck laden with iron from smart police station, Lakadganj, in front of police eye. The incident that took place on Monday morning, tarnished the image of the police. Police have used full force to nab the criminal and the truck.

On October 9, a truck loaded with 20 tonnes of iron and bearing number CG/04/J/5397 was stolen from Bhandara Road. The cost of the iron including truck was Rs 14 lakh. The crime branch unit three team caught notorious Sanjay Dhone, Jhingabai Takli, red hand with truck in Morshi. The crime branch team handed over the truck and Sanjay to Lakadganj police for further investigation. Sanjay got bail after two-three days and was released. According to sources, Sanjay was looking for an opportunity to steal the truck again. The truck was parked near the gate of the police station. As Lakadganj is the first smart police station in the city, it has CCTV cameras and other modern facilities. despite this crime branch came to know about the Sanjay’s motive. They alerted the officials of the police station about it.

It is said that Sanjay reached Lakadganj police station at 4. 30 am on Monday morning, stole the truck and escaped.

The police personnel came to know about the incident when they did not see the truck. They informed it to senior officers. After viewing the CCTV footage, different teams were formed and were sent to different directions but till late night, they did not find Sanjay. The theft is a challenge to police but despite this Lakadganj police were sleeping. This is the first such incident in the city. The iron loaded in the truck belongs to businessman Sumit Poddar. It is said for the last five days, Poddar was visiting Lakadganj police station to get the iron but police did not give him any response.

Is there no fear of the police

The Lakadganj police are already facing investigation for releasing a cricket bookie by allegedly taking money and beating a female lawyer. The latest incident has tarnished their image further. On one hand police commissioner Amitesh Kumar is engaged in breaking the back of criminal and illegal businesses. The latest incident brings an end to the fear of the police.
