AICTE shortens duration of MCA degree program from 3 years to 2 years from 2020-21

In a big development he All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) on Tuesday announced that the Master of Computer Applications (MCA) degree program, will have a reduced duration of two years instead of the current three years. The new course duration will come into effect. from the academic session 2020-21.  The announcement was made on the official Twitter handle of of AICTE. “Change in duration of MCA program from three years to two years with effect from 2020-21 has been approved”,

Candidates who have passed BCA/Bachelor Degree in Computer Science Engineering or equivalent degree. OR passed B.Sc/B.Com/B.A with Mathematics at 10+2 level or at graduation level. Students need to get at least 50 percent marks in the qualifying exam to apply for the course. Meanwhile, AICTE has released the revised academic calendar for the year 2020-21 last week. The academic session of the new admissions would begin from August 1, 2020, and continue till July 31, 2021. This would be applicable to the PGDM and PGCM courses in all affiliated institutes.
