Indian Railways has launched a new service called 'Bags On Wheels' for the first time. An app-based bag-on-wheel service has been launched by Delhi Division of Northern Railway. Rajiv Chaudhary, a senior official of the department, said that the railways is making various efforts to increase revenue. Accordingly, this scheme is being implemented in Delhi division. A private company has been assigned to deliver the passengers' luggage to their homes. This is the first service of its kind.

The BOW (Bags on Wheels) app can be accessed by Android and iPhone customers. From this app, train passengers will be able to apply to bring their items from their home to the railway station or from the railway station to the home.


For this, passengers will have to give their coach number, seat number and home address as per their booking. The contractor selected by the railways will take the luggage to the destination safely. This means that if booking on this app, passengers will be able to travel to station or home empty handed. Picking up a bag and putting it in a taxi or handling it, these hassles will be eliminated. This service will show to be very useful for the railway passengers, particularly senior residents, disabled folks and ladies passengers touring alone.

Initially, this service will be accessible for the passengers touring from New Delhi, Delhi Junction, Hazrat Nizamuddin, Delhi Cantonment, Delhi Sarai Rohilla, Ghaziabad and Gurugram railway stations.
