BJP's Kapil Dev Agarwal refused to meet families of Muslim youths killed in protest

Uttar Pradesh minister, who came to meet the people affected by the violence in Bijnor last Friday over the Citizenship Amendment Act, created a new controversy when he refused to meet the families of the two Muslim youths killed in the violence. Minister Kapil Dev Aggarwal went to meet the family of Omraj Saini, who was injured in the violence in Nahtaur town of Bijnor district, and both the killings took place in the same town.

After meeting Omraj Saini's family, Minister Kapil Dev Aggarwal was asked at a press conference in Bijnor, "The government says, 'Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas', but in Nahtaur you went to Omraj Saini's house ...Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi had also gone to meet his family, but she had also gone to meet the families who were killed in the protest, and one of them died due to the police bullet ... So how 'Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas' Will happen...?"

But the minister denied the allegations of any kind of discrimination, saying, "Why should I go to the houses of rioters".

Omraj's family claims that he was not part of any mob, and while returning from the fields, he succumbed to a bullet that was allegedly fired by a molester with an illegal weapon. 

Those killed in the violence in the same town on Friday included 20-year-old Suleman and 25-year-old Anas preparing for the IAS exam. After the initial denial, the police finally confessed that Suleman was killed by a police bullet, and he was involved in the alleged rioters who opened fire on a cop with local weapon, and then in self-defense police fired at him. Suleman's family has denied this allegation, and has said that Suleman had nothing to do with the protests.
