China on Wednesday accused India with its foreign and defence ministries blaming New Delhi for the Galwan Valley clash on June 15 and alleging that the external affairs ministry (MEA) and Indian media were disseminating false information about the border clash.

Foreign Ministry spokesman Zhao Lijian again accused India of "provoking" a border clash, saying and the onus is not on China's part.

Asked why after a positive meeting between the Commanders of the two armed forces, he is repeating the allegations, Zhao said, what I have just said is meant to clarify the whole situation, tell the truth to everyone. We made this statement because the MEA in India and also Indian media have made some false reports.

The two sides held a second military-level meeting on June 22 to exchange in-depth views on controlling tensions and maintaining peace and stability in the border areas.

On Tuesday, Zhao had dismissed as “fake news” a statement by Indian minister VK Singh that the PLA could have suffered double the number of casualties compared to the Indian army.

On 15 June at least 20 Indian soldiers, including an officer were killed in an unprecedented attack by the Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA) troops in Ladakh's Galwan valley.
