The global death toll from the new coronavirus has passed 4,000 and the outbreak has spread to over 100 countries. The cases of novel Coronavirus are increasing in India as the total number of confirmed cases has jumped to 52. Out of the 52 cases, 36 are Indian citizens while the remaining 16 are Italians who were on a tour to India.

Amid the virus scare the Karnataka government has issued a temporary regulation 'Karnataka Epidemic Diseases, COVID-19 Regulations, 2020' which aims to prevent spread of the disease.

According to the regulation, no person/institution shall use print or electronic media to spread mis-information on #COVID19 without prior permission of the Department of Health & Family Welfare. If a person is found indulging in any such activity, they will be punished.

According to the regulation, all govt and private hospitals should have flu corners for screening of suspected cases of COVID-19.
