Coronavirus: International flights to remain out of service in the country till 31st July

Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) today decided to suspend all the international flight operations in the country till July 31. However, international scheduled flights may be allowed on selected routes during this phase. Earlier, it was June 15 which was the announced date till which the flights would remain non-operational. The country resumed scheduled domestic passenger flights on May 25, after a gap of two months since the coronavirus lockdown was first announced in late March.

The domestic flights are being operated under strict safety and social distancing guidelines.The international passenger flight services in the country will resume in a phased manner during 'Unlock 2.0', the ministry of home affairs said on Monday. "International air travel of passengers has been permitted in a limited manner under the Vande Bharat mission. India reported the highest ever single-day spike of 20,903 COVID-19 cases in 24 hours on Friday, said the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. With these new cases, India's coronavirus tally has risen to 6,25,544 cases of which 2,27,439 patients are active cases while 3,79,892 patients have been cured/discharged/migrated.
