India’s COVID-19 case tally is above 3.07 crore with 42,766 new COVID-19 cases, as per the health ministry’s July 10 update. India has been reporting new covid cases below 50,000 for the past few days. 

As many as 1,206 new deaths were reported in the last 24 hours, new recoveries at 45,254 in the same period, the July 10 update stated. 

More than 37.21 crore vaccinations have been administered across India, according to the July 10 update. Among states, Maharashtra administered the most (cumulative) vaccine doses at 3.59 crore, followed by Uttar Pradesh at 3.68 crore and Gujarat at 2.73 crore.

India now has 4,55,033 active cases as per the July 10 update. Maharashtra has the highest number of active cases at 1,15,494 in the country followed by Kerala at 1,13,595 and Karnataka at 37,929. 

Maharashtra reported the most 738 new deaths, as per the July 10 update, followed by Kerala (130), Tamil Nadu (69), Karnataka (68), and Odisha (61). These five states account for majority  of all the new deaths reported in the country.

Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Bihar, Chandigarh, Dadra and Nagar Haveli/Daman and Diu, Ladakh, Jharkhand, Lakshadweep, Uttarakhand and Sikkim did not report any deaths today.

The total recoveries in India now stand over 2,99,33,538 with the recovery rate at  97.20 percent. Kerala recorded the most 10,454 new recoveries, followed by Maharashtra 10,458, Andhra Pradesh 4,576, Tamil Nadu 3,411 and Odisha 3,341.

Total COVID-19 deaths in India now stand at 4,07,145 as per July 10 update. The mortality rate is now at 1.3 percent. Over 19,55,225 lakh daily tests were reported on July 9. India's weekly positivity rate remains below 5%, currently at 2.34% with it's daily positivity rate at 2.19%, less than 3% for 19 consecutive days.
