COVID-19 Update: India records 31,443 new COVID-19 cases in last 24 hrs

India’s COVID-19 case tally is above 4.32 crore with 31,443 new COVID-19 cases, as per the health ministry’s July 13 update. This is the lowest covid cases reported in 118 days.

As many as 2020 new deaths were reported in the last 24 hours, new recoveries at 49,007 in the same period, the July 13 update stated. 

India now has 4,32,778 active cases as per the July 13 update. The active cases constitute 1.46 per cent of the total cases.

The total recoveries in India now stand over 3,00,63,720 with the recovery rate at 97.22 percent, as per the health ministry’s July 13 update. 
Total COVID-19 deaths in India now stand at 4,10,784 as per July 13 update. The mortality rate is now at 1.32 percent.

India commenced its COVID-19 vaccination drive on January 16 this year. Till date, 38,14,67,646 vaccine doses have been administered so far including 40,65,862 in the last 24 hours, under the nationwide vaccination drive.

Among states, Uttar Pradesh administered the most (cumulative) vaccine doses at 3.76 crore, followed by Maharashtra at 3.70 crore and Gujarat at 2.78 crore.

According to the Indian Council of Medical Research, 43,40,58,138 samples have been tested up to July 12 for Covid-19. Of these 17,40,325 samples were tested on Monday.
