The Haridwar Kumbh Mela, was organized a few days ago when India was battling a rapidly spreading second wave of Covid-19. There have been several cases of corona infection due to the largest religious gathering.

A similar shocking incident has now come to the fore. A corona-infected woman who visited Kumbh Mela in the first week of April has reportedly infected 33 more people in Bangalore. According to the Times of India, the 67-year-old woman had attended the Kumbh Mela in Uttarakhand. She has since infected many.
It also included 13 patients from Spandana Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center in West Bangalore. Local officials said everyone has recovered after the treatment.

The woman had undergone a covid test after returning from Kumbh Mela. She tested positive. Her husband and daughter-in-law also tested positive. The elderly woman's daughter-in-law, who is a psychiatrist at Spandana Healthcare, was also infected with corona. Although the daughter-in-law test was positive, she said there were no symptoms. Upon learning of this, the officials at BBMP took the matter into their own hands and started conducting tracing. Everyone who came in contact with the woman at Spandana Hospital was examined.

Two staff members, including 13 patients at the hospital, tested positive. Also, 18 members of the family returning from Kumbh Mela were infected with corona. The woman was later admitted to a private hospital. Meanwhile, all are being treated and some have recovered, officials said. One of the floors of Spandana Hospital had to be closed due to covid pread and had to be declared a covid care ward, said Dr Mahesh R Gowda, head of the hospital.A Hindi website has reported about this.
