Kejriwal's constituency records low voter turnout till 4pm

Voter turnout in chief minister Arvind Kejriwal's constituency in the national capital did not cross the half-way mark till 4pm. "The voter turnout is low because people have used the election day holiday as an opportunity to go out of station and relax," a voter said outside the polling station in New Delhi constituency. The voter turnout in Kejriwal's constituency stood at 37.45 per cent at 4 pm. In 2015 assembly elections, the total turnout in New Delhi constituency was 64.72 per cent.

Jamia Millia Islamia students who have been protesting at gate number 7 of the university have been shifted to gate 4 on the campus for the elections. The students have decided to continue their silent protest for the next two days from the new location. AAP to deploy 1.6 lakh booth-level volunteers

Aam Aadmi Party will deploy an army of 1,65,000 volunteers at all the 13,750 polling booths across 70 assembly constituencies going to polls on Saturday. At each polling booth, 12 AAP volunteers, including two booth agents and 10 mobilisers, will be deployed to encourage people to come out and vote. The activities of all the booth-level workers, who are locals, will be closely monitored from assembly-level war rooms.
