First Indian Covid patient from Kerala tests covid positive again

A student from Kerala’s Thrissur, who was the first Indian to test positive for COVID-19, has been infected again. She is, however, asymptomatic, an official has informed.

“She has been tested positive and under quarantine at her home. None of the family members have tested positive so far,” said Thrissur district medical officer K J Reena. The student tested covid positive again after she was got her self retested as she planned to travel to Delhi. Her family said she is showing no visible symptoms and that she has also been administered the first Covid-19 vaccine dose.

India's first case was reported in Kerala in January 2020. The patient was a student, who was studying at Wuhan University in China. The patient was kept in isolation in a hospital. Wuhan city of China witnessed an outbreak of the new strain of coronavirus in December 2020.
