Gujarat man hangs himself after being denied sex, wife booked for suicide

In a shocking bit of news, Shaherkotda police booked a 32-year-old woman from Maninagar under charges of abetment to suicide after  her husband ended his life with a grievance that his wife and accused of this case did not allow him to have sex with her during 22 months of their married life. Police registered the offence against Geeta Parmar, a resident of Jayanti Vakeel Chawl, on August 6 on a complaint filed by deceased Surendrasinh’s mother Muli Parmar,55, who made allegations against her daughterin-law. In her FIR with Shaherkotda police, Muli said that Surendrasinh, a railway employee, had married Geeta in October 2018. Before that, he had divorced his first wife in 2016. On the other hand, Geeta had earlier separated from two other men through customary divorce.

“Once I had gone inside my son’s room and found that he and my daughter-in-law were sleeping on different beds. When I asked my son about this, he told me that they did not have physical relations as Geeta had taken a vow that she would not have sleep with her husband,” Muli alleged in her FIR. She alleged that her son remained in mental stress as his wife did not allow him to sleep with her. Later, the couple began fighting over petty issues and the situation worsened as she left him and went to her parents’ home. Surendrasinh also blocked her phone but he went in depression. On July 27, when family members went to a funeral, Surendrasinh was alone at their home in Saraspur. When the family members returned, they found him hanging with a ceiling fan, states the FIR.
