A group of Indian students, who were studying in Italy, on Tuesday reached their homes in Andhra Pradesh after being in quarantine in Delhi for 26 days.

"The students who reached Vijayawada were tested this morning at Government General Hospital and later they went to their respective houses. They will continue to be under home quarantine, "Andhra Pradesh COVID-19 nodal officer Arja Srikanth told over the phone.

The bus started from Delhi on April 10 and was stopped in Chhattisgarh on April 12. Andhra Pradesh government and Union Home Ministry intervened and state DGP Krishnababu held talks with Chhattisgarh officials.

The bus again started on Sunday evening and reached Visakhapatnam by Monday evening and Vijayawada by the early hours of Tuesday.

Police registered their details and handed them over to their parents.
