Jharkhand: 250kg gold mine has been auctioned for Rs 250 crore, says Hemant Soren

Jharkhand state is one of the richest mineral zones in the world and boasts of 40 percent and 29 percent of India’s mineral and coal reserves respectively. Due to its large mineral reserves, mining and mineral extraction are the major industries in the state.

Amid the coronavirus crisis, Gold Reserves have been found in 250 kg gold reserves in inner city of East Singhbhum district of Jharkhand. Geological Survey of India Deputy Director General of Geological Survey of India Janardan Prasad and Director Pankaj Kumar Singh have submitted a report to the State Mines Secretary Secretary Abubakar Siddiqui about finding gold reserves in the mine. It has been said in the report that 250 kg of gold is stored in the Bindari mine.

CM Hemant Soren said, “We are facing the biggest revenue challenge. The 250kg gold mine has been auctioned for Rs 250 crore which will be helpful for the government during the corona crisis”.

The work of locating the gold reserves in Bindardari was going on under the direction of the philanthropist Pankaj Kumar Singh.
