The Jharkhand government has given relief to the farmers and made a big announcement regarding debt waiver. The government has announced a debt waiver of Rs 980 crore for 2 lakh 46 thousand farmers in the state. He also said that the government will continue to work for the welfare of farmers. Chief Minister Hemant Soren had on December 29 last year officially announced a plan to waive agricultural loans to mark the completion of one year to the government. In the first phase, the government has decided to waive loans up to Rs 50,000.

State Agriculture Minister Badal Patralekh said, "We are working for debt waiver of farmers. The Jharkhand Farmers Debt Waiver Scheme is one of the important schemes of our government. The scheme has brought happiness to the faces of farmers, "he said. The letter said in a statement issued on behalf of the state government. The scheme was mentioned in the recently announced state budget and is now being implemented in phases.

“The government has so far waived loans of 2,46,012 farmers. A total of Rs 980.06 crore has been provided for farmers' loan waiver, "the letter said. The government will take help of the banking sector so that more farmers can avail the benefits of the scheme as soon as possible. Farmers are also urged to go to banks and link their accounts with Aadhaar. According to a report released in December last year, the Jharkhand government has decided to waive off loans of up to Rs 50,000 to about 9 lakh farmers. For this, Rs 2,000 crore will be spent in the form of grants in the current budget.

The decision was taken by a coalition government of Jharkhand Mukti Morcha, Congress and Rashtriya Janata Dal on December 29 to mark one year in power. The decision was taken at a cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Hemant Soren. State Finance Minister and Congress state president Dr Rameshwar Uravan said, "The government will first provide loan waivers to small farmers. After that, in the second and third phases, we are trying to provide relief to those who have taken loans up to Rs 1 lakh and Rs 2 lakh and we are also planning to waive their debts, ”he said.
