Kerala: RPF seizes 100 gelatin sticks & 350 detonators from a passenger at Kozhikode Railway Station

In a shock development, more than 100 gelatin sticks and 350 detonators - were seized from a train passenger in Kerala at the Kozhikode Railway Station, officials said.

The Railway Protection Force seized the explosives from a woman passenger of the Chennai-Mangalapuram Express.

The woman identified as, Ramani, a native of Tamil Nadu, has been taken into custody; the explosives were kept under the seats. She admitted bringing gelatin sticks for the use of digging well, sources said.

The police is investigating the matter from all angles. More details are awaited. Kerala assembly polls are due to be held in Kerala in April-May.

On Thursday, an SUV filled with at least 20 gelatin sticks was found abandoned outside Antilia, the lavish multi-storied home of billionaire industrialist Mukesh Ambani,  in Mumbai.
