Kumbh covid test scam:1 lakh fake COVID tests conducted during Kumbh Mela

Shocking information has come to light about the corona tests conducted during the Kumbh Mela in Uttarakhand. During the Kumbh Mela, a misleading report was prepared by conducting around 1 lakh fake RT-PCR tests. It has been revealed that names like 'Champu' and 'Gutkha' have been mentioned in the list of persons who were tested for covid. While compiling the names of over 1 lakh people in the list, it has become clear that private laboratory conducted about 100,000 rapid antigen tests. “Of that one lakh tests, at least 50,000 are fake. It collected the samples in fraudulent way and issued fake test reports of which most were negative.

The COVID-19 test scam came to light earlier this month after a man from Punjab, who had not visited Haridwar, received a COVID-19 negative report on his mobile phone from the Haridwar health department. He then lodged a complaint with the Indian Council of Medical Research. The man who received the messages ignored it first, thinking that it was a spam message.I got a message on my mobile that your corona test had been conducted in Haridwar, while he was in Punjab. But I did not give any sample for test. I did not do any tests.

The Uttarakhand government had given contract to nine private testing laboratorie toc onduct tests of those coming to attend the month-long fair. Most of the reports didn't mention surnames of people. Some of the names that were mentioned in the list were 'Champu' and 'Gutkha'. The list came from the health department. The private agency was appointed after the High Court ordered to perform atleast 50,000 covid tests per day during the Kumbh Mela .

The state government has now ordered an investigation against all the nine private testing laboratories with which the Mela administration had signed a contract to conduct tests. A case has been registered against a private agency for conducting 1 lakh forged reports. It was shown that samples for corona test were submitted by the students and the report was false. It has been pointed out that both the name and the address are false.
