Monsoon Session: 30 MPs, 50 employees of Parliament test COVID-19

After the news of 17 MPs testing coronavirus positive came on Monday, as per sources it is now been said that around 30 MPs and more than 50 employees of Parliament have tested positive for COVID-19.

MPs attending the House had to undergo a COVID test and only those with a negative report were allowed to sit in the House. The security and secretarial staff in Parliament also had to take coronavirus tests before their entry.

Acoording to the reports of these tests, around 30 MPs and over 50 employees of the secretariats tested positive for coronavirus, the sources said.

All those who have tested positive have been asked to stay in quarantine and they did not come to Parliament.

The monsoon session, which began on Monday, is being held in two different shifts -- Rajya Sabha will sit in the mornings and Lok Sabha in the second half of the day.
