MP CM suspends Indore official after video of municipal workers 'dumping' homeless goes viral

Indore, known as the cleanest city in the country, has witnessed a shocking incident that has shaken humanity. In a shocking incident, a video of Indore Municipal officials where homeless old people were loaded into trucks like animals and dumped utside the city has gone viral on social media. Following the incident, three people have been suspended on the orders of Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan. The Deputy Commissioner of Indore Municipal Corporation has been suspended, the statement said.

A disturbing video of the incident, shot by locals has widely shared online, shows the municipal team trying to unload homeless people off a truck parked on the side of the highway. However, they were forced to bring them back after villagers in the Kshipra area notice them and refuse to let the elderly people be abandoned in the bitter cold.

Congress general secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra also slammed the Madhya Pradesh government over the horrific incident. “This incident is a scar on humanity. Government and administration should apologise to the victims. Not low rung employees but senior officials responsible for the action should be punished,” Priyanka Gandhi said in a tweet.

Abhay Rajangaonkar, the Indore Municipal Corporation's Additional Commissioner told ANI,"We have established Rain Baseras (shelters) for the homeless and will probe into why these elderly people were not sent there. We have also sacked two contractual employees in this connection."
