The number of coronaviruses in the country has increased to 2,37,03,665. India reported 3,62,727 new COVID-19 cases, 3,52,181 discharges and 4,120 deaths in the last 24 hours, as per Union Health Ministry

Few days after bodies of suspected Covid patients washed up on banks of Ganga in Bihar's Buxar, some unidentified corpses were found floating in the Ghazipur district of Uttar Pradesh on Tuesday. The incident of floating and piling up of corpses in Bihar sparked fears about the scale of the Covid crisis in the country.

After this, a similar shocking incident has taken place in Madhya Pradesh. Several bodies were found floating in a river in Panna district. The incident has created an atmosphere of fear among the locals. Some bodies were found floating in the Runz River, a tributary of the original Kane River in Nandapur village.

It is still not known whether these dead bodies were covid infected or not. But the villagers hasn't allowed anyone from their village to take out the bodies floating in the river. The villagers have informed that they are worried that this could lead to the spread of corona in the village. As the villagers also use the river water for drinking purpose.

The villagers have no other option for drinking water apart from the river where the bodies have been found floating. The villagers also demanded that the administration should clean up the river immediately.

On the other hand, Panna District Collector Sanjay Kumar Mishra has rejected the claim. He said that only two bodies were found in the river. The bodies are of cancer patients from a neighboring village, he said. He further said that the bodies were left in the river as part of a traditional ritual. A Hindi website has reported about this.
