NEET result 2020: Student hangs self post results, paper re-check shows 590 marks

The controversy over this year's NEET refuses to die down. The results of the medical entrance exam NEET was announced on October 16. In a first, Odisha's Soyeb Aftab and Delhi's Akanksha Singh secured 720 out of 720 which made them attain 99.99 percentile.

In a shocking incident, a student named Vidhi Suryavanshi of Madhya Pradesh, hanged herself by the ceiling fan inside her room as she scored poor marks in the exams. 

It is been said that a mismatch in the numbers of NEET exam result pushed Vidhi to take such step of ending her life. She wanted to become a doctor, saw just 6 digits in front of her name in the list when she checked her NEET results. 

However, the family could not believe that such a bright student would get such poor scores in the exams, hence they recalled for the OMR sheet, following which it was found that Vidhi had actually scored 590 marks.

Police are investigating the matter while the dead body has been sent for post-mortem.
