Nirbhaya case convicts shifted to Tihar, triggers speculation about their execution

Pawan, convicted in the Nirbhaya case, has been shifted from Mandoli jail to Tihar jail number 2. In the same jail, convicts Akshay and Mukesh are also lodged, while Vinay Sharma is lodged in jail number 4 of Tihar. All have been kept in separate cells and being monitored with CCTV cameras. Preparations has started for hanging in jail number 3, cleaning of hanging place and dummy trial is also done. 

Special ropes are being arranged for hanging, which are being ordered from Buxar Jail. These ropes are wax coated and are prepared by keeping them in moisture for several hours. The convict Vinay Sharma has filed a mercy petition with the President, which is pending there. On dismissing the mercy petition, it will first go to the Home Ministry, then to the Delhi Government and then to Tihar Jail.
