Prime Minister Narendra Modi gave a standing ovation to the people of Karnataka for their astounding victory in the state's by elections at the BJP parliamentary meeting. Narendra Modi expressed his gratitude to the people of Karnataka and hoped to progress at a faster rate with a stable government. The BJP recently registered a comprehensive victory in the Karnataka  by elections, winning 12 out of 15 seats and secured a comfortable majority in 224-member house with congress managing just fewer seats.

The BJP now has 117 MLAS with 222 legislators in the Assembly. The four-month old government under the leadership of Yediyurappa now has a majority in the House, getting to the magical figure of 112. Meanwhile, the Congress now has 68 MLAs while JD(S) has 34 legislators in the Assembly.
