Schools reopen in many states of India amid rising COVID cases

Schools, colleges in many states of India are set to partially reopen from today (September 21) amid the rising coronavirus cases after it was shut for six months to curb the covid spread.  

As part of Unlock 4.0, the Central government gave permission for schools to start classes from September 21 for classes ninth and above.The students are allowed to take a call on attending the classes in person or listen to them online, their decision should be endorsed by their parents or guard in writing.

These are the states where schools and colleges will reopen- Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Tamil Nadu, Madhya Pradesh, Nagaland, Mizoram.

Meanwhile, students, teachers and schools have been instructed to adhere to all the Coronavirus guidelines for operation in a safe environment.

India's coronavirus case tally surpassed 54 lakh mark as it added 92,605 new infections in the last 24 hours, data from the Health Ministry showed on Sunday (September 20).
