Tamil Nadu govt extends COVID-19 lockdown till July 31st, here's what's allowed and what's not

Tamil Nadu government on Friday extended the ongoing lockdown restrictions till July 31 with few relaxations. As per the latest guidelines, swimming pools, bars, educational institutions, zoos and theatres will remain closed. Inter-state transport services will remain prohibited. No social/ political/ cultural/ sports events will be allowed till July 31.Marriage-related gatherings are allowed up to 50 persons.

Gatherings related to funeral/last rites are allowed up to attendance of 20 persons. TIs, Industrial schools, type-writing schools are permitted to operate with 50 per cent of students on a rotational basis. Teachers can come to schools for admission related work and distribution of textbooks. Tamil Nadu on July 15 logged 2,405 new coronavirus cases, taking the tally to 25,28,806. The COVID death toll increased to 33,606 as 49 people succumbed to the deadly contagious virus.
