Karwachauth one of the most awaited Hindu festival is celebrated among married women. On this auspicious day women keep 'nirjala'  fast which means they cannot even have water till moonrise. This fast is actually observed by married women for the safety and long healthy life of their better halves. 

Although this festival is celebrated mainly in the northern states of India, Bollywood has made it popular across the world. Today women from all over the country celebrate this day.

1. Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge one of the iconic romantic film. The film features a song on Karwachauth and a scene as well where Simran keeps fast for Raj. This scene is also the climax of the film when Simran's mother comes to know about their love affair. 



2.  Salman Khan and Aishwarya Rai's most iconic romantic film features this popular song 'Chand Chhupa Badal Mein' on Karwachauth.



3. Amrita Rao Keeps Karwa Chauth for Shahid Kapoor - Ishq Vishq one of the  best hindi romantic movie.
