Founder Chairman of GMR Group GM Rao congratulated the team on their performances building up to the home leg. During the dinner on Sunday night, CEO, GMR League Games, Col. Vinod Bisht, also took those present through a three year journey of the team including every milestone that has contributed to the strong growth of the team over the years.

"We are grateful to the whole team of U.P. Yoddha who have toiled hard to come so far in the league. The road ahead is only going to get tougher but as long as we play as a unit we should be able to conquer all hurdles," said Bisht.

In attendance was also the former Indian opener and Member of Parliament Gautam Gambhir, brand ambassador of U.P. Yoddha. "I am very proud of the U.P. Yoddha team. They have turned the tables on their opponents making them inch closer to the playoffs with each win. I hope they have a great home season and we are eager to see them in the playoffs," Gambhir said.

Rao greeted the team and handed them mementos. "The whole GMR family is proud of the team. Even after a shaky start we have come back in style and it is all due to the great team work by the players and some amazing background work by the coaches. I wish them the best for the home leg," he said.

U.P. Yoddha will begin their home leg on October 5 with a match against table toppers Dabang Delhi and will be looking for a win after losing in Delhi to them.

Speaking on behalf of the team, captain Nitesh Kumar said, "We are overwhelmed by the love and support that we have received from the group so far. They have believed in us and we intend to repay the same by winning the rest of our matches."
