TATA Group's big plan to setup semiconductor assembling plants in 3 states of the Country

The automobile sector has been facing severe shortage of semiconductor chips for the last several months. This has had a major impact on the production of vehicles, creating difficulties in producing and distributing vehicles despite the demand.

The global economy is slowly recovering from the Corona crisis. Many areas have started anew. The festive season in India has seen a surge in vehicle purchases. However, the major shortage of semiconductors is a problem for automobile companies.

The TATA Group has now come up with a big plan and is said to be working hard on setting up semiconductor assembly projects in three states of the country. According to Reuters, the Tata group will invest Rs 2,250 crore in the project.

TATA Group is in talks with Tamil Nadu, Karnataka and Telangana for an outsourced semiconductor assembly project. Talks are also underway on land acquisition in these states and a decision will be taken soon.

According to Reuters, the Tata Group may finalize everything about the semiconductor assembly project next month. While the TATA Group is up-to-date, leading and strong in terms of software, it is now being said that the Tata Group wants to be strong in terms of hardware as well.

The TATA Group is expected to sign deals with Intel, AMD and ST Micro Electronics. By 2022, the Tata Group's semiconductor assembly project will be operational and will create about 4,000 jobs.

Meanwhile, a few months ago, the TATA Group had announced plans to enter the semiconductor sector. China currently has a monopoly on the semiconductor sector. In this regard, Tata Sons Chairman N. Chandrasekaran had given information about this.

The TATA Group has taken steps against the backdrop of growing demand for semiconductors in India's automobile sector.

The global market for electronics products is about 1 trillion. The TATA Group has already set up new businesses with market share opportunities.

Semiconductor manufacturing requires huge investment. Currently the global supply chain is completely dependent on China and no company in India manufactures semiconductors. Add to this the Corona crisis are the reason that companies are now dependent on other countries for political reasons.

In such a scenario, India has a good chance of becoming the world's second largest semiconductor manufacturing hub, Chandrasekaran said

These semiconductors are used in many other electronic items from cars, computers and mobiles. It performs better work related to semiconductor control and memory function. The use of semiconductors in the automobile industry has increased worldwide in recent times.
