The Pakistan cricket team celebrated the auspicious festival of Eid-ul-Adha while on international duty in England where they are set to take on the hosts in 3 Tests and as many T20Is.

As the likes of Sarfaraz Ahmed, Younis Khan, Babar Azam and others gathered together for the festival, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) shared the pictures of the celebration. Seeing the pictures, however, some fans were left extremely disappointed.

These are challenging times. The England & Wales Cricket Board (ECB) has issued strict COVID-19 protocols to be followed. When the Pakistan team arrived in the UK, they were reportedly served food on different floors as the social distancing protocols had to be followed. Even when cricketing activities are not taking place, the players are expected to adhere to social distancing norms.

Pakistan might have been given exemption as they’ve been living in a bio-secure bubble since landing in England. All players were also tested for COVID-19 upon their arrival in the country. To mark the start of the Eid al-Adha holiday, Twitter was flooded with wishes and celebratory photos on the special occasion. A small group of pilgrims performed one of the final rites of the Islamic hajj on Friday.
