Kieron Pollard is one of the most popular cricketer's around the globe who enjoys a massive fan following on social media.

More often than not, one sees some miscreants spreading fake news on the popular social media platforms and recently something similar happened with West Indies star Kieron Pollard.

While the star allrounder is busy playing in the T10 League in Abu Dhabi, a fake video on YouTube has gone viral which claims that he was involved in a fatal car accident.

Quite a number of videos regarding the accident were doing rounds on the internet, making many fall for Pollard’s death hoax.

Unsurprisingly, the rumour spread on Twitter and other social media platforms like a wildfire.

At the time the fake video and the news went viral, Pollard was plying his trade for Deccan Gladiators against Pune Devils in the second match of the Abu Dhabi T10 League.

The West Indies T20I skipper failed to make a mark with the bat, scoring just two as his team suffered a crushing 7-wicket loss in their tournament-opener.

As soon as the rumours of Kieron Pollard’s death started doing the rounds on social media, we checked the YouTube videos and found out that those were absolutely fake.

Meanwhile, Pollard recently pulled out of West Indies’ ongoing tour of Bangladesh due to concerns over the coronavirus pandemic. He was one of the several big names from the team to withdraw from the competition, compelling West Indies to play the series with a depleted team.
