Ishant Sharma, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Rohit Sharma and now Navdeep Saini (RCB) has also got injured as selectors meet today to select the Indian team for the tour of Australia.

Royal Challengers Bangalore’s head physiotherapist Evan Speechly said fast bowler Navdeep Saini split his webbing in the 18th over of Chennai Super Kings’ innings on Sunday.

Off the last ball of the 18th over, Saini injured his right-hand thumb and walked off the field. The team’s physio said that he is not sure when Saini will be good to go.

The major issue before the selectors will be the fitness of the players. Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Ishant Sharma are already out of IPL 2020 due to injuries and is likely to stay out of Australia tour as well.

Bhuvneshwar, Sunrisers Hyderbad's vice-captain, was ruled out due to a thigh injury. He scalped three wickets in his four-match stint. As per a report in The Times of India, Ishant is running out of time and is highly unlikely for the tour. He has travelled to National Cricket Academy (NCA) after returning to India. Bhuvneshwar also remains in doubt for the tour.

Mumbai Indians skipper, Rohit Sharma, missed his consecutive game in the on-going IPL 2020 when his side locked horns with Steve Smith-led Rajasthan Royals on Sunday. With the tournament being in its business end, all franchises have pulled up their socks in the race to book playoffs berth. However, Rohit's absence in two back-to-back games has raised concern about his availability for the upcoming fixtures. MI opener Quinton de Kock shared an update over the skipper's hamstring injury. The South African opening said that he is unsure about Rohit's return to the playing XI. The 'Hitman' is currently recovering after sustaining a hamstring strain on his left leg.

Hardik Pandya - The Mumbai Indians batsman has not bowled in a single match, though he has done well. Therefore, it is unlikely that he will be considered for the Test team.

Mayank Agarwal - The opener from Kings XI Punjab has also suffered a minor injury and missed the last game against Sunrisers Hyderabad.

“Saini has split his webbing in the last ball there. He obviously got hit on the thumb on the right hand. He has just split the webbing over there, fortunately, we had a good hand surgeon, he stitched up nicely. So we could just monitor over the night and check it after getting ready for the next game,” said Speechly. “Virat four-five years ago he had it in Kolkata, we managed to stop the bleeding and he smashed a 100 after we got a plastic surgeon who had stitched it,” he continued.
