Former Indian skipper MS Dhoni has been an integral part of Chennai Super Kings ever since the inception of IPL.

Dhoni was seen in IPL 2020, he was asked if it is his last season with CSK. His ‘definitely not’ put full stops on all his retirement plans from CSK.

In the latest turn of events, the same got reiterated by CSK CEO Kasi Viswanathan who stated that MSD can continue with CSK for 1-2 years more.

He went on to add that the 40-year-old has no reason to retire and he is only adding value to the team. It has to be noted that under the guidance of MSD, CSK has lifted three IPL trophies and had reached the playoffs of all the season before the 2020 season broke their streak.

2020 IPL was the first edition where CSK failed to quality for playoffs and even skipper’s batting form came under a lot of questions.

“He can continue for another one or two years with CSK. He is fully fit, trains a lot. Don’t see any reason why he should stop.

As far we are concerned, we are happy with what he is doing for CSK. It is not just about his captaincy or the fact that he is the guide or a leader as the most experienced player. We feel he is still good and brings value as a player to the side.

He has been a finisher and is doing that for us,” Said Viswanathan as quoted by Sportskeeda.

MS will next be seen leading the yellow army in the UAE leg of the IPL 2021 which will set off in September.

Indian Premier League (IPL 2021) will be held in the United Arab Emirates in September-October window, the BCCI has confirmed.
