Rohit Sharma achieved a major landmark in his Indian Premier League career when he walked out for the toss in the IPL 2020 final, leading Mumbai Indians against Delhi Capitals in Dubai on Tuesday

Rohit completed 200 IPL matches in his IPL career, thereby becoming only the 2nd player to do so after Chennai Super Kings MS Dhoni.

MS Dhoni achieved the landmark earlier this season and finished his campaign in IPL 2020 with 204 matches. Rohit Sharma missed 4 matches for IPL due to injury concerns but he has got to the milestone in the big clash of the season.

Rohit Sharma played 45 matches between IPL 2008 and 2010 for the now-defunct Deccan Chargers and he won the title with them in 2009. Rohit was roped in by Mumbai Indians in IPL 2011 and has been playing for the Mumbai-based franchise ever since.

Rohit Sharma, who has represented MI in 155 matches in the IPL, took over the captaincy of the side from Ricky Ponting mid-way during IPL 2013.

In his first year as captain, Rohit led MI to their maiden title and there has been no looking ever since for both the skipper and the team.

Rohit Sharma has emerged as the most successful captain in the history of IPL, with 4 titles. He has been part of 5 title-winning campaigns, the most by a player in the tournament.

Rohit Sharma is bidding to become only the 2nd captain after MS Dhoni to defend the IPL title. Dhoni did so when Chennai Super Kings won back-to-back titles in 2010 and 2011.

Mumbai Indians have won the title so far only in alternate years and that too odd years but given their form, one won't be surprised if MI do it in the big final on Tuesday.

The defending champions took the shorter route to the final as they finished on top of the points table with 18 points and handed a 57-run thrashing to Delhi Capitals in Qualifier 1.

Rohit Sharma will hope that his team wins the title for the fifth time.

After Rohit Sharma, MS Dhoni stands second with most IPL titles to his name.
