Suryakumar started the batting order with a smart move by including a wicketkeeper-batsman in the top order. He chose Jos Buttler to partner with Rohit Sharma at the top of the order. At no. 3, he included Virat Kohli followed by himself at no. 4. Interestingly, MS Dhoni was not part of the side, despite being one of the most common players to be seen in any player’s IPL XI. As far as the all-rounders are concerned, Suryakumar picked Hardik Pandya, who was the third Mumbai Indians player to be picked. Yadav also included Andre Russell and Ravindra Jadeja in the team as the two other all-rounders.
