A disastrous start to the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2020 season by Chennai Super Kings (CSK) has seen fans demanding the return of Suresh Raina. Franchise CEO Kasi Viswanathan, however, has ruled out the return of 'Chinna Thala' despite the troubles that the team has had this term.

The defeat against Delhi Capitals was CSK's second on the trot, with the franchise only succeeding in winning the first game against Mumbai Indians (MI) in the opener. Be it bowling or batting, the team has had challenges in all departments.

Speaking to ANI, the CSK CEO Viswanathan clarified that Raina's 'personal space' needs to be respected and the franchise will not be asking him to make a return in any circumstances.

"See, we cannot look at Raina because he made himself unavailable and we respect his decision and his space. We are not thinking about it," he said.

CSK have gone on a 7-day break post which veteran batsman Ambati Rayudu is also expected to return. With fresh enthusiasm, approach and new team composition in place, Viswanathan is confident of bringing smiles back on the faces of fans.

"We have been blessed with some of the best fans in the cricketing world and I can assure them that we will bounce back strongly. It is a game and you have your good days and bad days. But the boys know what they need to do and the smiles will be back," he asserted.

Giving an update on the fitness of Rayudu, the CSK boss confirmed that the right-hander is fit and available for the next game. "Like I told you last day (before the Delhi Capitals game), he would miss one game at worst. He is fit and ready for the next game," he said.

CSK captain MS Dhoni had also spoken about making a few changes in the team for the next match, especially with regards to bringing an extra bowler in order to return to winning ways.

"We need to come back with a clearer picture, looking at the combination. I feel Rayudu will come back in the next match. There are quite a few things we can think about. We are one batter extra to start off, so the players need to step up," Dhoni had said on Friday. The Super Kings will be next spotted in action against SunRisers Hyderabad on October 2 when the two teams lock horns in Dubai.
