The government is trying to get these workers home. But they have no patience to wait as it is been more than 2 months since the lockdown. They want to return home as soon as possible. In all this, Bollywood actor Sonu Sood has run to the aid of the workers.

Over the past three weeks, Sonu Sood has been doing what the Indian government — both at the Centre and in states — took an oath to do.

He has helped thousands of migrant labourers and students stuck in various states reach their homes.

Sonu's work is currently being lauded on social media, with Kapil Sharma, Congress leaders and ministers Aslam Sheikh and KRK also praising him.

From arranging buses to providing free meals, Sood did what our politicians promised to do before elections, only to turn their backs on these promises after coming to power, claiming they were merely “political idioms.

Many on Twitter also drew comparison between Sood and former External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj

Every time Sood promised a person who sought help from him, he has actually fulfilled it.

Sonu Sood is replying to as many Twitter users as possible, asking for the address and phone number, and is working to get the stranded migrant workers in Mumbai to their village.

Sonu's work has also been praised on the box office's Twitter handle, while Sonu has been hailed as Bollywood's Bahubali.

Congress leader and minister Aslam Sheikh also praised Sonu's work, saying "I am inspired by your work."

Sood has been proving to be a messiah for India’s poor and needy in his personal capacity.

The migrant workers who left for their village have thanked Sonu.

Many on social media are making memes to appreciate Sonu Sood's work for the migrant workers.

Sonu Sood is now being praised by his industry colleagues like director Farah Khan, journalists like Barkha Dutt, sportspersons like Sania Mirza.

Comedian Kapil Sharma also appreciated Sonu's work.

He is receiving thousands of messages every day from common Indians who are, perhaps, not used to seeing a villain on screen turn into a star in real life.

According to KRK, Sonu Sood is the most searched person on Google today, people are searching for Sonu to go home instead of the Prime Minister and Chief Minister.

The latest person to shower praise on Sonu Sood is Women and Child Development Minister Smriti Irani, who is the BJP MP from Amethi, Uttar Pradesh — the state at the centre of India’s migrant crisis, along with Bihar.
