The Family Man 2 actress Samantha Akkineni reveals she is scared to enter Bollywood

The Family Man 2 trailer, starring Manoj Bajpayee and Samantha Akkineni, finally released on Amazon Prime Video and this time the series marks the debut of Samantha Akkineni.

In a recent interview, the actress said that she was 'scared' to make an entry in Bollywood.

In an interview with a Bollywood website, Samantha was asked why it took so long for her to sign a Hindi project. “Because maybe I am scared? (laughs) The talent here is amazing. I am scared,” she said.

Samantha was also asked to name the actor she would like to be paired opposite if she was cast in a romantic Bollywood film. She chose Ranbir Kapoor.

The Family Man 2 also stars Seema Biswas, Darshan Kumaar, Sharad Kelkar, Sunny Hinduja, Shreya Dhanwantary, Shahab Ali, Vedant Sinha, Mahek Thakur, Mime Gopi, Ravindra Vijay, Devadarshini Chetan, Anandsami and N. Alagamperumal.

On the acting front, Samantha has two projects currently in her kitty. She recently signed a Tamil horror flick with Ashwin Saravanan and also has upcoming Tamil romantic comedy, Kaathu Vaakula Rendu Kadhal which also stars Vijay Sethupathi and Nayanthara.

Samantha is thrilled about her upcoming horror film with director Ashwin Saravanan. Acknowledging the project, she recently tweeted: “It’s going to be much more than just a horror film.”

She is a recipient of several awards including four Filmfare Awards, two Nandi Awards, four South Indian International Movie Awards, and three CineMAA Awards.

Alongside her acting career, Akkineni is a prominent celebrity endorser for brands and products, while she also started her own NGO, Pratyusha Support, to provide medical support for women and children in 2012. She donates her earnings from endorsements, product launches and inauguration events to support the foundation.

Samantha made her television debut in 2020 by hosting an episode Telugu-language reality television series Bigg Boss 4 as part of a special episode. She received praise for her work in the series.

Samantha suffered from an extended period of illness in 2012, which saw her having to opt out of big film projects and take a two-month break from acting.

She began dating actor Naga Chaitanya in 2010 and the pair were engaged in a ceremony in Hyderabad during January 2017.She got married in Goa as per traditional Hindu customs on 6 October 2017 and then by Christian customs on 7 October 2017.
