The recent decline in the number of corona patients in India paints a grim picture. But now with the revelation of new information, the tension has increased. A new variant of the Corona Delta Plus AY 4.2, which has caused a stir in the UK and many European countries, is now making its new house in India.

This new variant of the Corona is said to be more infected than the Delta variant. According to CSIR Institute of Genomics and Integrative Biology Director Dr. Anurag Agarwal, now AY 4.2 has just come from the UK. Some of its diseases in India.

Scientists are keeping an eye on the new variant of the Corona. Is the new variant weakening the immunity from the vaccine? There is no evidence yet. There is also a low incidence of illness and death due to this infection.

An INSACOG scientist said that the details of this variant will be released soon. INSACOG is part of a lab working on the genomic sequence of the corona. According to the institute, 4,737 patients of the AY variant have been found in India till October 11.

The AY.4.2 variant has once again increased corona infection in the UK. Scientists in the UK have included it in the variant under investigation. According to the health official, the growth rate of the AY 4.2 variant is 17% higher than that of the Delta variant.

More than 50,000 Covid patients were found in the UK on October 23. For the first time since July 17, so many patients have been found. The Delta variant is still rampant in the UK but the number of patients has been growing rapidly since the discovery of AY 4.2 in the UK.

Why worry for India? - International flights from the UK have resumed. India has excluded the UK from the list of countries from which it is mandatory for passengers arriving in India to undergo a 14-day quarantine and covid RTPCR test.

Negative reports and vaccination certificates are now required. It is also a matter of concern for India that so far 30 percent of the population has taken both doses of the vaccine. So many countries around the world have started giving booster doses. Vaccination of children is still underway in India.
