The rapid spread of the corona virus's new variant to date in four countries, including South Africa, has raised concerns among Indian scientists. This variant has undergone more than thirty mutations in a short period of time.

The World Health Organization (WHO) has described the variant as a "rapidly spreading" concern. This variant is called 'Omicron' in Greek. This is the first time in the last few months that the WHO has announced a classification.

Scientists have warned that this could lead to a serious crisis for the country if the b.1.1.529 variant of the Corona merges with Delta and both variants become infected simultaneously. But fortunately, at present, no such mixture has been introduced.

Scientists of South African on Thursday announced the discovery of a b.1.1.529 variant of the Corona. Now this variant has been found in two other countries, Israel and Belgium. A patient has also been found in Hong Kong.

Many have not yet received the second dose of corona vaccine in India. Therefore, Indian scientists saying that strict measures should be taken to prevent this new variant of Corona from entering India.

A senior scientist at the Institute of Genomics and Integrative Biology (IGIB) of the Delhi-based Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR), Dr. Vinod Scaria has recorded his opinion. he said for the first time, the virus has undergone 32 mutations.

Dr. Scaria said "There is a need for caution. There is an urgent need for vaccinations and health related measures. We will have to wait a few days to get more information about this new variant".

New Delhi-based Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) senior scientist Dr. Lalit Kumar said that India already has more than 69 per cent critical variants. It has the highest delta. In such a scenario, if this new variant is introduced in India, then the Country will likely to be in danger.

A senior scientist said that at present the emphasis is on home quarantine, but in addition to these three countries, suspected patients should get quarantine service at the airport, so that the new variant would not be transmit.
