According to information published in the international journal Nature, jack fruit effectively controls diabetes. The research was conducted by AG Unnikrishnan, CEO, Chelaram Diabetes Institute, Pune and Dr. Gopal Rao, Assistant Professor, Srikakulam Government Medical College. According to the information given by the doctor, the consumption of jack fruit shows positive results in the patients.

The study found that jack fruit flour is beneficial in lowering blood sugar levels in seven days. For this research, 40 patients with type 2 diabetes were asked to use jack fruit instead of rice and wheat in their diet. Asked to include 30 grams of jack fruit in the diet for three months. After three months, fasting blood sugar, postprandial blood glucose, and HbA1c levels were found to be less. In addition, the patients had lost weight.

Meanwhile, India has a different pattern of diabetes compared to western countries. More than 30% of diabetics do not suffer from obesity.

Studies show that in addition to lowering sugar levels, jack fruit are also beneficial in controlling glycemic index.

To make jack fruit flour, first dry the seeds properly. Dry the seeds properly and remove the top skin. Then cut the seeds properly and grind them finely. Mix 30 gms of jack fruit flour with other flours and consume it as chapati or bread every day.
