Its a Miracle! Four-year-old child survives after falling from 18-storey building

A Chinese boy has miraculously survived after accidentally falling 18 storeys from a tower block while being left at home unattended, according to doctors.

The four-year-old child from Hubei allegedly climbed onto a sofa next to the window before losing balance and plunging some 180 feet to a flowerbed.

He was critically injured while being found, but his condition has stabilised following emergency surgery, a hospital claimed.

The accident took place at around 10am on August 6 in a residential compound in the city of Xiangyang, reported Xiangyang Radio and Television Station.

It is said that the young victim, who remains unidentified, lives with his grandmother because his parents work in a different city.

He allegedly fell out of the window while playing by himself after his grandmother had gone out to buy groceries.

The boy's father said his wife received an urgent phone call that morning from the boy's grandmother, who informed them of the accident.

The First People's Hospital of Xiangyang, which treated the boy, said he was in a state of haemorrhagic shock and sustained multiple severe wounds upon arriving at the hospital.
