Many celebs are taking the initiative to help the needy amid the coronavirus crisis. Several countries have announced lockdowns to prevent the spread of the coronavirus. Many daily wage earners are starving due to the lockdown.

In Pakistan too, many are suffering due to lockdown. Former all-rounder Shahid Afridi and his foundation are helping the needy in Pakistan.

Afridi himself is going to the villages to distribute essentials to the needy. Indian cricketers Yuvraj Singh and Harbhajan Singh also lauded his social work.

Afridi was also willing to work for free for brands to provide rations to the needy. Brands should make a deal with me, they shouldn’t pay me for it. Afridi had appealed to only help and provide rations to the needy.

As part of his relief work, Afridi visited a Hindu temple in Pakistan and distributed food items to the needy.

He wrote in his tweet,"We are in it together and we shall prevail together. Unity is our strength. Visited Sri Lakshmi Narain mandir along with @JK555squash President @SAFoundationN to deliver essential food items."

Former squash player Jahangir Khan is also helping Afridi in his social work.

Afridi and his organization are working day and night to help more and more people in Pakistan.

Globally, 4,363,906 have been infected by coronavirus as of today, and the total number of deaths from the disease now stands at 293,547.

The number of corona patients in Pakistan has risen to 34,336, with 8,812 patients being cured and 737 losing their lives.
