Corona variants of Delta-4 have increased the risk of a third wave in India, according to scientists from the Department of Biotechnology. In fact the Delta-4 variant is spreading rapidly. This has prompted a team of scientists to issue an alert.

The scientists have submitted a report to the central government on September 13. According to this, after the second wave, there are continuous mutations in the Delta variant in the country.

According to the report, mutations are taking place not only in India but also in many countries including USA and Europe. This has led to further changes in the virus. In India alone, the Delta variant has changed form 25 times so far. It has also been found in various patients.

The genome of 90,115 samples has been completed so far. Severe variants of the virus were found in 62.9 percent of the samples. It has Delta, Alpha, Gamma, Beta, Kappa etc. variants. Which not only increases the chances of a second infection, but also keeps them strong enough to infect after vaccination.

No patient of MU or C.1.2 variant has been found in India. However, deltas and other mutations related to deltas are constantly occurring. This could lead to another serious situation in the country due to corona. This is because most of the samples of Delta-4 (AY4) have been received so far.

Of the 25 mutations Delta has received, Delta 4 appears to be transitioning very rapidly. This mutation is spreading in Maharashtra and Kerala. This mutation is likely to play a major role in the upcoming wave of corona.

According to the Delhi-based IGIB, 44 per cent of patients in Maharashtra last month were of the Delta-4 variant. In Kerala, the figure is 30 per cent. The WHO has placed this variant in the critical category.

Vaccination against corona is on the rise in the country. Over Rs 78.58 crore has been made available to all the states so far. Also, 1.16 crore vaccines will be sent. The states currently have 5.16 crore vaccines available.

People will soon need a booster dose of the corona vaccine to gain greater protection against the corona epidemic, claims Dr. Anthony Fauci, a senior infectious disease specialist in the United States.

After injection, a booster dose of corona vaccine can prevent people over the age of 60 from becoming infected and getting serious illness.
